About Ward & Saunders Family History
Please sign in to see more.
Our Ward and Saunders families for generations have lived in Georgia and Florida. It appears that our family started migrating from Europe from the early 1600`s.
We are indebted to our American Revolution ancestors for their help in establishing this great nation we live in. We also have British Loyalist roots, and we have two lines of our ancestors who removed themselves from The United States to Abaco a small island in the Bahamas in the late 1700`s. We have been unable to document, but our oral family history tells of our Native American ancestors. Our oral family history has also passed along that we are English, Scottish, French, Irish, Dutch, Italian, and Spanish. Since our family is based in the deep south, we have numerous family members who served in the CSA during the Civil War. Some of our Confederate Soldiers lost their life during the struggle.
Migration of our European families seem to begin in Virginia, then on to North Carolina and/or South Carolina. From there, later generations migrated into Georgia (Middle GA and Wiregrass GA). Part of the families continued their migration into North Florida in the early 1800`s.
I hope the information compiled within will be helpful in your search for your family. Good Luck!

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
